Fredericksburg Film Festival 2026

I grew up in Fredericksburg. I’ve lived my whole life in Spotsy County, and always felt a deep love for it. It’s an everything town, and I’ve seen it blossom in size considerably in the past 20ish years. But for some reason, I never imagined it having a “film scene”. When I was considering film schools, I kept some in-state options on my list, but I never seriously considered them. I wanted a change in scenery, a bigger city, and— importantly— proximity to the industry.

I got to meet several really talented filmmakers, and watch gorgeous films, made by Fredericksburg locals and/or shot in Fredericksburg. I was floored, and it inspired me. Don’t write off Fredericksburg. Don’t write off Virginia.

FFF made me feel incredibly valued as a filmmaker. My film “Vicarious” was shot in Chicago, but they valued me as a FXBG artist. That meant the world to me.

The Festival was organized to perfection, the selection of films was breathtaking. I saw the feature “The Heart is a Muscle” which was a brilliant South African film by Imran Hamdulay. Every moment I was there was a pleasure.
